NHA Schools Celebrate Holiday Season in Style

The holidays brought times of celebration and gathering for many National Heritage Academies (NHA) partner-schools and the families they serve. From door decorations to toy donations, there were a variety of ways schools celebrated the holiday season. Below are some highlights from the month of December.
 
Pinnacle Academy
Families at Pinnacle Academy were treated to Story Time with the Grinch this holiday season. The Grinch greeted scholars and their families for a night of activities, storytelling, and photo opportunities.
 
Willow Charter Academy
Willow Charter Academy was able to donate over 100 toys to scholars with the help of sponsors. All-in-all, the school distributed 30 bicycles, 10 electric scooters, smart watches, headphones, speakers, remote control vehicles, and tennis shoes.
 
Taylor Preparatory High School
The 27 scholars that make up Taylor Preparatory High School’s National Honor Society put on their first service event of the year, helping support a local “No Child Without A Christmas” program. Over the span of two weeks, scholars gathered over 100 gifts of either winter clothing items or toys.

Paramount Charter Academy
Paramount Charter Academy held its first ever Elf Fun Run in December. Scholars had 20 minutes to complete as many laps around the school as they could. After their 20 minutes were up, scholars received a candy cane and cup of hot chocolate. Elf costumes were all over Paramount as students and staff dressed in festive attire for the first ever Elf Fun Run. The event also served as a fundraiser for the school.

Timberland Charter Academy
The Timberland Charter Academy choir went to the Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital and performed for patients, visitors, and staff throughout the building. Staff members at the hospital said the music was uplifting and brought them so much joy.
 
Keystone Academy
Scholars at Keystone Academy conducted their annual food drive, collecting 3,607 food items to donate to local charities for their holiday programs. It is the fifth charity or organization Keystone has helped this year.
 
Bennett Venture Academy
Bennett Venture Academy scholars and their families came together to decorate gingerbread houses together. They celebrated the holiday season with the festive treat and quality family time together at school.

Emerson Academy
Winter Fest was quite the celebration for families at Emerson Academy. It was a day full of family time where activities included decorating cookies and ornaments, taking pictures with Santa, drinking hot chocolate, and listening to holiday story books. The Dancing Diamonds Drill Team also performed for the crowd.

Stambaugh Charter Academy
Second graders at Stambaugh Charter Academy ventured to a local senior health care center to pay residents a visit and spread the holiday season’s joy with song performances throughout the building.
 
Inspire Charter Academy
Inspire Charter Academy held their Jolly Christmas Paint Event for scholars and their families. Parents and students had the chance to paint together at school, filling the canvases full of images of ornaments and gift boxes.

Eagle Crest Charter Academy and Mountain View Academy
The holiday spirit was alive and well at Eagle Crest Charter Academy and Mountain View Academy with one of the most popular holiday celebrations. Staff members decorated their doors with festive theming, bringing the joy of the season to the threshold of their classrooms.
