As soon as the school year ended, construction crews got to work transforming campus spaces. These new spaces will help support students for years to come. Thanks to the hard work of Phoenix Academy teachers and staff, classrooms in both the upper and lower buildings were cleared during the final days of school. This allowed construction teams to begin work right away.
Today, crews are actively removing walls, reconfiguring spaces, and preparing for major renovations across campus. While students enjoy summer vacation, progress is happening every day behind the scenes.
A Growing Campus for a Growing School
The most visible changes are taking place at the high school, where construction continues there on several major additions and improvements.By the time students return, they will begin to see significant progress on:
- Twelve new classrooms
- Onsite lunch service with a new common space
- Additional restrooms
- A new gym with increased seating for families and fans
- Additional emergency exit doors
The new athletic fields are expected to be fully operational for the Fall 2026 sports season. This will give our student-athletes exciting new opportunities to compete and practice on campus.
Creating Better Spaces for Younger Learners
Changes are also underway in both elementary buildings. The Lower Elementary Building will transition from serving kindergarten through second grade. It will now serve kindergarten and first-grade students.
At the same time, second-grade classrooms will move into the Upper Elementary Building. This will create a more streamlined educational experience for families.
Both elementary buildings will receive:
- New office configurations
- Enhanced security features
- Video entry systems
- Updated visitor access protocols
- Secured entry and exit points
- On-site lunch service
Improvements Beyond the Classroom
Construction isn't only focused on learning spaces. A new traffic flow system was implemented in the spring at the Upper and Lower Elementary buildings to enhance the arrival and dismissal experience for students and parents. The changes include more space for cars to line up, a new exit, a two-lane entrance, and improved circulation patterns.
