Seniors at Center Line Preparatory Academy enjoyed a special event to commemorate their final year of high school: a Senior Sunrise event. The students enjoyed an early-morning breakfast as they watched the sunrise, then got to work personalizing their parking spots for the year.
“Students genuinely enjoyed the experience,” Dean of High School Kierra James said. “They pitched in to help each other with designs, shared paint, and took as much time as they wanted to make their spots reflective of their unique personalities.
“It’s important for our seniors to have this opportunity for self-expression because they deserve to be celebrated for their hard work throughout the years. They have worked hard on their academics for years and are starting to see the fruits of their labor.”
The tradition is also giving younger students something to look forward to for their senior year. An incentive as simple as painting the pavement can go a long way for students. Putting a personal touch on their final school year can be a lasting memory.
