A student experienced a health emergency which required CPR, and fortunately Second Grade Teacher Donna Campbell, Instructional Paraprofessional Lauren Yohn, and Dean of Lower Elementary Theodore Eastman were thinking quickly that day.
Campbell and Yohn called for help from emergency personnel while Eastman leaned on the CPR training he learned at Leadership Summit, NHA’s yearly summer learning symposium.
“I started giving chest compressions, checking for a response in between,” Eastman said. “I wasn’t getting any response, but after the third cycle, I got one, and we were able to bring them back.”
