Project Gratitude: Celebrating Moral Focus™
On Nov. 13, schools across the National Heritage Academies network came together to turn kindness into action during Project Gratitude. The event gave students the opportunity to write thank-you notes to veterans and active service members in honor of World Kindness Day.
This initiative brought to life our Moral Focus™ virtue of Gratitude, reminding students that gratitude isn’t just something we feel, it’s something we share.
South Canton Scholars Charter Academy served as this year’s captain school, setting the tone for a network-wide moment of connection as students said thank you to those who serve our country every day.

The notes will be delivered to Soldiers’ Angels, who will distribute the student thank-you notes to veterans and service members across the United States and around the world, ensuring each message of gratitude reaches those who deserve it most.
It wasn’t just schools that took part in Project Gratitude. The NHA Service Center joined in too!
Writing more than 500 thank-you notes to schools, deans, teachers, and DSQs across our network. These letters of appreciation celebrated the incredible work being done every day to support students and bring NHA’s mission to life.
Project Gratitude showcased what’s possible when our network comes together in kindness and purpose. Thank you to students, staff, and service center team members who helped make this initiative such a success!
