Community members gathered and recognized Winterfield Venture Academy as one of its pillars. After 20 years of teaching and transforming lives, the school was eager to open its halls and show interested families what makes Winterfield special.

Admissions Representative Danielle Reddick set up a table to share resources with new, returning, and prospective families.
Admissions Representative Danielle Reddick said the achievement is impactful and can help recruit more families to the school.
“This achievement is a testament to the fact we are still going strong 20 years later,” Reddick said. “Being out in the community, I have met children who went to Winterfield who are now young adults. We also have some parents who went to Winterfield and their child is a student at the school now.

Scholars dance to the tunes of Arthur Bishop and Friends with special guest Anita Chery at Winterfield Venture Academy’s 20th anniversary celebration.
“It’s definitely very impactful to see how the school has evolved and the impact Winterfield has made over the last 20 years.”
The event took a moment to honor one member of the school community who made a difference for students in the school’s first 20 years. Janice Zraik was recognized as the only staff member to teach students from the first day the school opened. She retired this summer but was in attendance to help celebrate.

There were plenty of resources for families, including free backpacks and school supplies.
The Back to School Bash also featured live music from Arthur Bishop and Friends with special guest Anita Chery. The lively tunes provided a fun atmosphere for families in attendance, who also could take part in fun activities such as a bouncy house, face painting, and balloon animals, among others.
Students could also take advantage of free resources to kick off the school year. School supplies, backpacks, and community resources were all free for families in the Winterfield community, even those not attending the school. Reddick said showing prospective families the school offers a full scope of what Winterfield offers.

Students had lots of fun at the Back to School Bash, including inside of the bouncy house.
“Having them tour the school just lets them know we can be your school of choice,” Reddick said. “Whether you’re looking for Moral Focus™ or you’re just not happy at your other school, our door is open. When we include prospective families in our events, we want to show them the school culture.”
That school culture has helped Winterfield lead in its community for 20 years and provide countless children an experience that transformed their lives.
Keep up the great work, Winterfield! Congrats on 20 years!
