Applying to Buffalo United Charter School

Whether you're ready to apply or if you're thinking about applying, we want you to know what to expect. Below is some helpful information about our application process and enrollment requirements.

Open Enrollment at Buffalo United Charter School

Buffalo United Charter School partners with Enroll Buffalo. Open Enrollment for the upcoming school year begins on December 1, 2022. To enroll in Buffalo United Charter School, you will need to do the following:
  1. Click on the APPLY button below. You will be directed to the Enroll Buffalo Charters website.
  2. Once on the site, you will be asked to create an account. Follow the instructions on the website to create your account and add your student to the account.
  3. Once the account is created, apply for your student using the online application. Be sure to identify Buffalo United Charter School as your #1 choice!

Enrollment Requirements

If accepted, you will receive an acceptance package with important registration forms. A proof of residency must also be submitted to complete registration. Parents/Guardians must submit to the school all of the following items by the date specified in the letter, otherwise your child may be removed from the Accepted list.

New York Enrollment Requirements

To hold your student’s seat, the items below must be completed by the deadline provided in acceptance communications. All forms can be completed or uploaded online via the Parent Portal.

  • Admissions Form
  • ​Official Release of Records
  • Proof of Residency
The remaining paperwork listed below allows us to ensure student safety, student well-being, and accurate reporting. We ask you return these items as soon as possible, but no later than your student's first day of school. All forms can be completed or uploaded online via the Parent Portal.
  • Student Residency Questionnaire
  • ​Home Language Questionnaire
  • ​Original Birth Certificate
  • ​Most Recent Immunization Records
  • ​Emergency Contact Information
  • Directory and Photo/Video Authorization
  • Transportation Permission Form
  • Attendance Expectation Form
  • Lunch Forms
  • Parent Volunteer Form (optional)
  • Medication Administration Form (only children with medications)


Additional paperwork may also be requested, depending on the school in which your child has been accepted. This paperwork can include:

  • ATS Kindergarten Registration Form (New York City only)

Parent Portal

The NHA Parent Portal allows parents and guardians to access their child's information online through their computer or smart phone. Parents can view student grades, fill out school forms, contact school staff, check attendance record, view the school calendar, make payments for school lunch, and view your notifications or account settings.
