Specials & Extracurricular Activities

Learning is a lifelong process that extends beyond the walls of the classroom. At Brooklyn Excelsior Charter School, students can explore their interests, learn new skills, and make new friends through a variety of extracurricular activities. Learn more about what we offer below.

Technology

We offer one-to-one technology, with each student receiving their own Chromebook.

Specials

Along with academics, our scholars will be exposed to the arts and more. We offer specials like music, PE, technology, and visual arts.

Electives

Our K-8th grade scholars will be able to choose elective classes. We offer health, music, PE, and visual arts. Not all electives are available for all grades.

In-School Programs

In addition to specials and electives, Brooklyn Excelsior Charter School also offers other in-school program activities such as: Black History Programs, Book Buddy Program, College Tours, High School Placement Assistance, High School Visits, Middle School Mentors, Oliver Scholars, Student Ambassadors, and Student Safety Team.

Boxing club at Brooklyn Excelsior Charter School

You're Invited to Join Our Boxing Club!

BECS has partnered with Alchemist Boxing Fitness Club to offer boxing club to our students! Boxing club will meet once a week from 3:30-5:00 p.m. We have two different meeting times based on grade.

Middle School Mondays, Grades 5-8
Wavy Wednesdays, Grades 1-4

Each session is $20 per student. Permission slips are required for students to participate. Please contact the school office for more details.
