Aspire Charter Academy welcomed more than 40 grandparents to the school last week as part of a special event.
Students invited their grandparents to visit them at school, see their classroom, and get to know their teachers.
“Students loved being engaged with their grandparents doing word search puzzles and being read a book by a student about grandparents,” said Diane Hobbs, Aspire student/family liaison. “Grandparents enjoyed our icebreakers where they had to retrieve items from their purses or pockets to win prizes that included a gift card and book bundles.”
The event’s theme was “Readers Make Leaders.”
“Everyone enjoyed this day of celebration for our grandparents as students showed off their classrooms and classwork,” said Hobbs.
