Dress Code

A flexible and cost effective dress code has been established at our school to encourage academic success while reducing distractions and competition. Implementing a simple, flexible, cost effective dress code promotes student learning and increased academic instruction time.

Grades K-8

  • Students in grades K-8 are required to wear white or navy shirts with collars.
  • All pants are to be uniform style pants, shorts, or skirts. Skirts must reach knee length of student. All uniform bottoms must be khaki/tan.
    • Black/Blue is NOT permitted.
  • Only school-approved uniform colors may be visible. (white undershirts only).
  • Cold weather attire may include solid blue sweaters only, AJB blue spirit wear or AJB blue sweatshirt hoodies only. All cold weather attire must be free of any designs, patterns, emblems, or writings.
  • Hats of any kind may not be worn inside the building.
  • Black belts must be worn with pants that have belt loops.
  • Shirts must stay tucked into pants and/or skirts.
  • Socks or tights that are visible must be white only.
  • No leggings underneath garments will be permitted. Jeggings, leggings, jeans and sweatpants are not considered school uniform attire.

Boys

  • Belts must be worn with pants that have belt loops. Shirts must stay tucked into pants.
  • Earrings and other body piercing ornaments are not permitted. Students may not wear Band-Aids to cover earrings.

Girls

  •  All bottoms must be either longer than the student’s fingers when her arms hang at her side or no more than three inches above the knees.
  • Girls must wear white or navy socks, tights, or leggings when wearing skirts or jumpers. Tights or leggings must be navy or white, no exception.
  • A reasonable number of earrings are permitted. Only ears may be pierced.
