Post-Interview Etiquette

What you do post interview gives you the chance to stand out and make a lasting impression. A warm thank you email, genuine excitement, and thoughtful follow-ups show you're not just a great candidate–you're the candidate!

Send a Thank You Email

  • Timing: Send a thank you email within 24 hours to keep the momentum going!
  • Recipients: Don't forget to include everyone on the interview panel and event the scheduler if there was one.
  • Content:
    • Show your gratitude for their time and the opportunity to chat about the role.
    • Highlight the specific part of the conversation that excited you–it shows you were engaged!
    • Reassure them you're the perfect fit by mentioning the skills you're eager to bring to their team.

Reflect on the Interview

  • Take a moment to celebrate what went well–go you!
  • Jot down areas where you think you could improve. This is a learning experience after all.
  • Keep a record of the questions asked and your responses for next time.

Follow Up Thoughtfully

If it's been a little longer than they mentioned, don't be shy! Send a friendly follow-up email.
  • Let them know you're still excited about the role.
  • Gently ask if there are any update on the process or timeline.
