The NHA CollegeBound™ Scholarship

At National Heritage Academies (NHA), we believe education transforms lives. This educational foundation starts at one of our NHA partner-schools but extends beyond eighth-grade, into high school, college, and beyond. Through the NHA Foundation, the NHA CollegeBound™ Scholarship supports the college dreams of four NHA partner-school eighth-graders each year. Since its inception, more than two dozen students have received this scholarship – made possible through the generous donations of NHA employees.

The NHA CollegeBound™ Scholarship is open to all currently enrolled NHA eighth-grade students.

Students who apply for the NHA CollegeBound™ Scholarship  must submit an essay about how their school’s Moral Focus virtues have made a difference in their lives. The essay must be the independent work of the student. Essays are submitted online and are a 300-500 word response to one of three question prompts:
  • Explain how a community service project you completed allowed you to apply your morals in service to others.
  • Describe a situation in which a Moral Focus virtue helped guide your decision-making process.
  • Explain how your decision to pursue an education in science, technology, engineering, or math was influenced by those four criteria.

The application window to apply for the NHA CollegeBound™ Scholarship is held each spring. All currently enrolled NHA eighth-grade students and their parents will receive notification from NHA when the application window is open. Principals also will be notified. Scholarship winners will be notified in coordination with their NHA partner-school’s principal.
