Winter Crafts

Amber Brandt

No matter where you live, winter is a great time for snuggling up with those you love, playing games around the dining table, or exercising your creativity with a few seasonal crafts.

Not only is crafting a fun way to pass a chilly, dark evening, research shows it gives us health benefits too! According to Spectrum Health and Human Services, crafting “regardless of the medium you use, can bolster mood, improve self-confidence, and reduce stress overall. In addition, crafting has also shown to improve mental agility, both gross and fine motor movements, and decrease cognitive decline.”

So, what are you waiting for!? Let’s pull together that brain power to make something adorable. We’ve pulled together a short list of winter crafts you and your kids will love (mostly with items you already have on hand)!

Northern Lights

These chalk drawings are so eye catching; your child will probably think they’re reminiscent of Frozen.

Toilet Paper Roll Olaf

Speaking of Frozen, this cute Olaf craft will bring a smile to your face and be so easy to make (it’s from a template).

Easy 3D Edible Marshmallow Polar Bears

Delicious, puffy, and adorable.

Penguin Headband

Another templated craft that’ll be a breeze.

Snowy Forest Paper Art

This torn paper craft will be easy for even the smallest child, but the look is elevated and classy.

Narwhal Craft

This little guy is too cute, and he’s just popping up to say he hopes you find your dad.

Borax Snowflakes

The easiest, most elegant crystals out there.

Polar Bear Handprints

So you never forget how small their hands were.
