PVA recently earned their first Eagle Awards at the National Heritage Academies® (NHA®) Leadership Summit in July.
These awards recognize hard work, dedication, and excellence across NHA during the 2025-26 school year. PVA took home honors in two categories:
- Safety Award: This recognizes schools that maintain high standards for safety, including timely emergency drills and strong participation in Safe Schools Week.
- Taking Flight Award (Student Enrollment): This honor is given to schools in the top 5% for year-over-year enrollment improvement.
PrepNet National Honor Society Students making a donations to Ostego County Food PantryIt is no wonder enrollment is climbing at PVA. Their scholars are achieving incredible milestones. Their 2026 valedictorian was awarded an Oxford Scholarship to study at Oxford University this summer and their National Honors Society (NHS) members are truly living out NHA’s Moral Focus™ program.
The NHS recently identified a need for food bank donations in their community. Leading the project from start to finish, the students applied for a grant through the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals. Through a careful selection process, they chose to support two local food banks, the ACC Marketplace and the Otsego County Food Pantry.

These students also practiced compassion when they chose to use part of the grant funds to cover Advanced Placement (AP) testing fees for their fellow students who couldn’t afford to take the tests. Each AP test can cost nearly $100. These student leaders identified a need and took action to support their community and classmates.
Congratulations to the entire PVA community on these well-deserved accomplishments!
