At Pinnacle Academy, the staff took the stress out of this search for families and added a dash of pizzazz to their recent open house. By pairing a professional magic show with a school tour, Pinnacle created a space where families could find answers and wonder in equal measure.

The event wasn't just about pulling rabbits out of hats; it was about opening doors. By combining the tradition of a school magic show with the annual open house, Pinnacle Academy offered a transparent, low-pressure look at their campus culture.
Admissions Representative Joseph Strong noted that this integrated approach allowed new and incoming families to see the school’s personality firsthand.
“Many students really enjoyed themselves,” Strong shared. “\Principal Strick and Seventh-grade Teacher Shayla Morris were even included in one of the tricks the magician did. No one left empty-handed either, they all were given educational and magic-themed door prizes.”

This level of staff participation highlighted an accessible and engaging side of the school’s teachers, proving that while they take education seriously, they don't lose sight of the joy of childhood.
While the students were busy being mesmerized by illusions, parents had the opportunity to dive into the "magic" behind the school’s success. As part of the National Heritage Academies® (NHA) network, Pinnacle Academy focuses on a foundation of parental partnership, high expectations, and NHA’s character-building Moral Focus™ curriculum.
“We wanted to allow parents the opportunity to learn about our personalized teaching, advanced learning opportunities, and safe, nurturing environment,” Strong said. “By taking the time to engage the students and their families in a night of fun and information, we were able to accomplish that goal.”

Keep up the great work, Pinnacle! Way to engage families, current and future.
