A flexible and cost effective dress code has been established at our school to encourage academic success while reducing distractions and competition. Implementing a simple, flexible, cost effective dress code promotes student learning and increased academic instruction time.
All Students - Acceptable
- Grades K-5:
•Uniform shirts must be heather grey, cotton polo shirts (long or short sleeved) with collars. Shirts with the school emblem are encouraged but not mandatory. Shirts labeled with the school emblem can be purchased through School Belles. Uniform pants need to be khaki, tan, or beige. Girls can wear khaki, tan, or beige skirts, jumpers and skorts in addition to pants. Khaki, tan, or beige shorts can be worn with uniform shirts from August-October.
- Grade 6:
•Uniform shirts must be light blue cotton oxford shirts (long or short sleeved). Shirts labeled with
the school emblem are encouraged but not mandatory. Shirts labeled with the school emblem can be purchased through School Belles. Navy blue or heather grey sweaters, vests and cardigans with or without the school emblem may also be worn. Uniform pants need to be khaki, tan, or beige. Girls can wear khaki, tan, or beige skirts, jumpers and skorts in addition to pants. Khaki, tan, or beige shorts can be worn with uniform shirts from August-October.
- Grade 7:
•In addition to the Grade 6 uniform,7th grade boys and girls must wear a solid navy blue tie. Girl
ties and boy ties with the school colors can be purchased through School Belles.
•In addition to the Grade 7 uniform,8th grade boys and girls must wear a navy blue blazer. Blazers with the school emblem are encouraged but not mandatory and can be purchased through School Belles.
All K-8 Students:
•Shoes must be worn every day. Shoes must be brown or black (loafer type or casual dress). Flatboots are acceptable for boys and girls.
•Skirts, jumpers, and skorts must be longer than the fingers when arms and hands are at the student’s side or no more than 3 inches above the knee.
•Pants must be belted and pulled up to the waist at all times.
•On days that students have P.E., the school gym uniform and sneakers can be worn for the entire day.
•Cold weather attire may include solid heather gray or navy blue sweaters or sweater vests.
•Tights/knee high socks and leggings of a solid color of black or navy blue may be worn during the winter months under skorts and skirts only, not alone as pants.
•Coats and sweatshirt jackets must be taken off during the school day.
•Hats and/or headscarves are only permitted as outerwear, to and from school.
•Girls and boys can wear one pair of stud earrings. Girls can wear other jewelry in moderation.
Unacceptable Dress Code and Uniform
•Hats or bandanas of any kind are not permitted.
•Extreme hairstyles are not permitted. Hair color must be of natural tones and may not be
professionally colored, dyed, or streaked.
•Wearing, carrying, and displaying gang paraphernalia, names, signs, or symbols of gang membership
•Sagging/tight pants, mid drift, tank and low cut tops, skirt/dress length, high heeled shoes, hats in
class, suggestive logos/wording are prohibited.
•No hooded sweaters/sweatshirts and hooded outerwear are not allowed during school hours.
•Clothing that is extra-long and/or tight and form fitting is unacceptable. Clothing must “fit” the student neatly.
•No loop or dangled earrings.
•No striped or patterned sweaters, socks, tights, shirts, leggings, undershirts or sweaters.
•No sweat suit or pajama bottoms can be worn.
•No sandals, high heels, platform boots or heels, flip flops, mules, slip on, house shoes, or any open toed shoes of any kind are allowed to be worn in school.
Dress down may be earned through the course of the year. When jeans are allowed they must be free
of holes and appropriate for school. All guide lines under the unacceptable category apply to dress
- Uniforms are required for grades 3-8 for Physical Education.
- Uniform shirts are optional for grades K-2. If you choose to have your child in uniform, please have him/her wear the Pinnacle t-shirt as his/her uniform for the day.
- Parents are responsible for purchasing uniforms for their child/children.
- Family Sports & Lettering will provide uniforms this year. Store location and prices are below.
- If it is your child’s P.E. day, the uniform may be worn for the entire day.
- No shorts. P.E. uniforms will consist of navy blue or gray jogging pants and the Pinnacle P.E. Tee shirt or sweat shirt. Uniforms will be required in P.E. classes starting September 10.
