The theater troupe, made up of two professional actor-educators, used humor, action, and audience participation to guide students on an adventure. The story, called “Once Upon a Flame,” followed a hero who is faced with the challenge of broken natural gas appliances and learns the value of using energy wisely while trying to stop a villain from wasting the precious resource.

Admissions Representative and Parent Ambassador Jessica Ibrahim, who helped coordinate the performance, said the program balanced educational content with humor, which made the learning feel natural and fun, rather than forced.
“Students were highly engaged and excited throughout the performance,” she said. “Many were laughing, participating, and talking afterward about what they learned, which showed the message truly resonated with them.”

For the past 47 years, The National Theatre for Children has been performing for students across the country to inform them about important social issues and inspire them to make a positive difference in their communities.
“Hosting assemblies like this reinforces Peak’s commitment to providing enriching experiences that go beyond the classroom, supporting both academic growth and character development in a memorable way.”

Beyond the performance, students and teachers received an e-learning package that included games, quizzes, and lesson plans designed to reinforce the key concepts introduced in the show.
What an awesome event, Peak! Keep up the great work!
