What Sets Us Apart
Why Families Trust National Heritage Online Academy
Academic Excellence
National Heritage Online Academy uses the same research-backed curriculum as NHA's network of 100+ in-person schools, thoughtfully adapted for an online environment. Credentialed teachers provide instruction, feedback, and guidance, and every student works with an academic coach on a personalized plan with weekly check-ins. Students who are ready to move beyond grade level can take on advanced learning in either learning model.
Character Development
Through our Moral Focus™ program, students learn essential virtues like gratitude, courage, and compassion. Dedicated lesson time, guided discussions, and regular recognition help students see how strong character shapes their relationships and their school community. Four out of five parents at NHA online schools say Moral Focus has had a positive impact on their child.
Student Responsibility
Students are held to clear, grade-appropriate expectations that grow with them over time. Self-Paced students learn to manage their time and coursework, while Live Online students attend scheduled classes and participate in discussions. Tools that show assignments, lesson progress, grades, and teacher feedback help students take ownership of their own learning.
Parent Partnership
At National Heritage Online Academy, families and school staff work together through consistent communication and shared accountability. It starts with a Parent Success Meeting, a one-on-one orientation that helps you understand expectations and feel prepared to support your child. Parents connect with academic coaches weekly and teachers monthly, with tools to track attendance, lesson progress, and grades anytime.
Structure & Support
Whether your child learns best in scheduled live classes or at their own pace, we provide the structure and support to keep them engaged and progressing. Live Online students follow consistent start and end times, including time away from screens for lunch and recess. Self-Paced students move through a sequenced curriculum with weekly check-ins. Both models include virtual open office hours, tutoring, and targeted support when a student needs it.
