National Heritage Academies (NHA®), one of the nation’s largest charter school management companies, honored its top performing schools, including Riverton Street Charter School, during its 17th Annual Eagle Awards ceremony.
The event was held Monday, July 16, in Grand Rapids, Mich., with more than 500 principals and deans in attendance as part of a four-day Leadership Summit.
Riverton Street earned an Eagle Award for student attendance. The award is given to those schools at the 90th percentile achieving the lowest percentage of student excessive absences.
“This is a wonderful award to accept on behalf of the entire team at Riverton Street Charter School,” said Principal Andrea Whitehurst. “Student attendance is such a vital part of a quality education and we are proud to have strong attendance at Riverton Street.”
NHA rewards schools in other areas including Schools of Excellence, employee engagement, parent satisfaction, and state accountability.
