Building Partnerships, Strengthening Community: North Dayton School of Discovery Hosts Local Leaders
North Dayton School of Discovery recently opened its doors to local partners for a special Community Leaders event, celebrating those who actively champion local youth while paving the way for future collaboration. Principal Christina Stegnicki hosted 16 prominent community figures to explore the school’s vibrant culture, observe daily instruction, and discover the diverse opportunities provided to scholars.
Reflecting on the purpose of the gathering, Principal Stegnicki noted, "North Dayton School of Discovery was honored to welcome 16 community leaders to our school for a special event dedicated to celebrating and thanking those who continue to make a difference in our community and support our youth."
Central to North Dayton’s educational mission is National Heritage Academies'® (NHA®) Moral Focus™ program, which embeds essential character virtues, such as respect, responsibility, compassion, and integrity, into daily learning. The event showcased how these Moral Focus™ virtues extend beyond the classroom walls, demonstrating to visiting leaders how character development and community partnership go hand-in-hand to nurture well-rounded students.
During the visit, leaders toured classrooms to see academic and character education in action. "This gathering gave our guests an opportunity to learn more about the wonderful things happening at North Dayton, see our students and staff in action, and learn about the opportunities we provide for our students," Stegnicki shared.
The initiative aimed to build lasting bridges between the school and the broader neighborhood, encouraging leaders to share the school's impact with prospective families.
"By working together and spreading the word about the opportunities, programs, and experiences we provide, we can help more families discover what makes North Dayton a wonderful place for their students to learn and grow," Stegnicki stated.
As the event concluded, the school expressed deep appreciation for the attendees' engagement and enthusiasm for future joint endeavors.
"We are grateful to each community leader who took the time to join us, learn more about North Dayton, and explore ways we can work together to support the families and young people in our community," Stegnicki emphasized.
