Inspire Charter Academy hosted a free community fun festival on Saturday, July 17. Around 400 people attended the festival that had live music, free food, games, face painting, pop-up shops, COVID-19 vaccinations, and family-friendly fun.
There also was an opportunity to meet school staff, tour the school, and register for the upcoming school year. Visitors learned about Inspire’s personalized instruction, Moral Focus program, and enrichment activities. There were several live bands as well as a DJ, and festival foods.
Several community partners had information booths such as the East Baton Rouge Library, East Baton Rouge Head Start Center, Baton Rouge Mosquito Control, YWCA, Baton Rouge D.A.R.E., and Sheriff Department. Also, about 40 vendors had pop-up shops selling items like clothing, jewelry, wristbands, sno-balls, and cake.
“All our staff and volunteers were so wonderful in helping to put this event together. I thank them for the time they spent in making it successful,” said Matthew Robinson, III, admissions representative and lead event organizer at Inspire.
Two staff members were interviewed during a live segment on local radio station 94.1 and 106.5. Radio host Teko Foxx interviewed Dr. Landon Brown, director of school quality, and Stephanie Jones, Advantage Charter Academy principal. They both talked about the school and the advantages of attending one of National Heritage Academies’ charter schools.
The festival was an opportunity to celebrate the community, meet old friends and new ones, and register students for school.
