It’s another accolade for one of Detroit’s best charter high schools, and Principal Carlos Hall said he was excited to learn of the award.
"We are so grateful for this recognition from GreatSchools,” Hall said. “It is a true testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff and the determination of our students. At Canton Prep, we are preparing scholars for college and life beyond the classroom, and this award shows our students leave with the tools they need to succeed."
Presented annually by GreatSchools, an organization providing school information to parents and families, the award honors schools that excel at preparing students to enroll and thrive in college. Schools earn the honor based on three criteria:
- College preparation: high graduation rates and strong college entrance exam results.
- College enrollment: a high percentage of graduates going on to higher education.
- College performance: students persisting and avoiding remediation once enrolled.
The GreatSchools College Success Award is the most recent accolade for Canton Prep. Metro Parent named the school one of the best charter schools in Wayne County in May, and Niche recently ranked Canton Prep the fourth-best charter high school in Detroit.
Thanks to the priority it places on academic excellence, parent partnerships, and Moral Focus™, Canton Prep is preparing students for life’s next steps. The school now has one more award to exemplify its hard work and success.
Congratulations, Principal Hall and Canton Prep! Keep up the great work!
