Students participated in an assembly to honor the school’s 25th anniversary and contributed materials for a time capsule.
Students and staff gathered for a schoolwide assembly to commemorate the milestone, and the school band performed, filling the gymnasium with festive music. Each class contributed one item to a time capsule that was placed on school grounds with items representing 2026 or the first 25 years of Canton Charter Academy’s history.
Principal Jennifer Conley said the activity also encouraged students to think about the future and connect with the school’s history.
“We wanted students to recognize that they are an important part of Canton Charter Academy's story and legacy,” Conley said. “By contributing letters, artwork, and reflections, students were able to leave their mark for future generations to discover. The activity helped make the anniversary meaningful and personal, allowing students to see themselves as part of something bigger than their individual school experience.”

The school’s band played music, filling the atmosphere with a festive feeling.
The school also welcomed back some special guests to celebrate. Former staff members attended the assembly to share memories from their time at Canton and look forward to Canton’s next 25 years. The assembly brought together Canton’s legacy and its future, making it one that the school won’t soon forget.
The celebration didn’t stop there. The same evening, Canton held a carnival to party with the entire community. Carnival games and fare filled Canton’s campus, but the main attraction was an activity for alumni. Former students were invited to create a piece of art to contribute to a mural that will hang in the school’s halls.
Moments like these reflect the strength of Canton Charter Academy's community and the lasting legacy the school has built. Conley said it was a special and meaningful opportunity for everyone to come together.

Canton held a carnival for the wider community to join the school in celebrating its 25th anniversary.
“Watching families, alumni, former staff members, and current students come together filled me with gratitude and pride,” Conley said. “Seeing generations of Canton Charter Academy gathered together reminded us that our school is much more than a building; it’s a community that has positively impacted thousands of lives over the past quarter century.”
These meaningful connections left a lasting mark, as former students, staff, and families came back to express their gratitude and join the celebration. Conley said seeing everyone come together to commemorate the occasion was both humbling and inspiring.
“As an educator and school leader, you work every day to make a difference, but events like this allow you to truly see the impact a school has over time,” Conley said. “It reinforced how strong our school community is and reminded me that the relationships built here extend far beyond the classroom.”

Alumni contributed artwork to a mural that will hang in the school’s halls, marking the occasion for years to come.
As for Canton’s next 25 years, Conley said she hopes the school continues to be a place where students are challenged academically, supported socially and emotionally, and inspired to become leaders in their community.
“I hope we continue to innovate, strengthen partnerships with families, and create opportunities that prepare students for an ever-changing world,” Conley said. “Most importantly, I hope future generations of students leave Canton Charter Academy with the same sense of belonging, character, and confidence that has defined our school for the past 25 years.”
Canton Charter Academy's 25th anniversary is a reflection of what happens when a school, its students, families, and community come together with a shared commitment to academic and character growth. Congratulations on 25 years, Canton!
