Aspire Educates Parents, Too

Aspire Charter Academy held the first of four parent sessions at the school in September to help educate parents in the areas of finances, parenting, and health.

“We want to be more transparent with our parents,” said Diane Hobbs, Aspire’s student and family liaison. “By informing them and inviting community partners, we become a close-knit family, creating an environment where we all help our students.”

Parents were involved in E-Learning, Technology, Finance, ELA, and Health - both physical and mental. Vendors from the neighborhood held a health fair at the same time to show parents where to receive medical assistance.

Aspire teachers, along with other community partners, taught the workshops throughout the morning. And, a local author read to students.

“Parents are anxious for more and are committed to our Parent University.”
