Peak Visited by Senator

This past week, Peak Charter Academy welcomed North Carolina Sen. Tamara Barringer to campus.

The senator toured the facility, visited classrooms, and read a book called, “I Pledge Allegiance” to second-grade students. She also answered questions from students about her role as a state senator and her work on North Carolina’s education, judiciary, and finance committees.

In addition, she met with the school’s administrative team to discuss her role as an avid supporter of charter schools and school choice.

“We were honored to have her spend part of her day with our Pirate scholars,” said Steve Pond, principal of Peak Charter Academy. “We sent her home with a Peak shirt that she said will hang up in her general assembly office.”
