Summerfield Charter Academy has been recognized for its strong academic results and the supportive learning environment it provides students. In the 2026 U.S. News & World Report rankings, Summerfield ranked seventh on the Best Charter Middle Schools in North Carolina list.
For families, this recognition reflects more than test scores. It points to a school culture built on academic excellence, clear expectations, and strong partnerships with parents. Since opening in 2013, Summerfield Charter Academy has outperformed the local district by maintaining high standards and supporting students as they take responsibility for their learning.
U.S. News & World Report highlighted Summerfield’s middle school math and reading performance, rating both well above expectations. These outcomes reflect focused instruction, a structured learning environment, and teachers who help students build strong academic foundations.

In fact, 92% of parents at Summerfield say the Moral Focus program has had a positive impact on their child, reinforcing the school’s commitment to developing both strong students and strong character.
In addition to academics, Summerfield offers a well-rounded education that helps students grow as leaders and teammates.
