Stambaugh Hosts Back to School Bash

Stambaugh Charter Academy recently hosted their annual Back to School Bash community event that aimed to ramp up student excitement for their return to school on Aug. 20. The Bash also aimed to reduce first-day anxiety by providing students and their families the chance to reconnect with friends and visit their teachers.

During the event, parents and families had the chance to meet Wendy Thomas, principal at Stambaugh Charter Academy, connect with teachers, tour the school, and learn about the school’s personalized instruction.

A local barber attended and provided free haircuts for school-aged kids to help make them feel confident for the upcoming school year. The event allowed students and community members to participate in fun activities including jumping in bounce houses, playing with balloon animals, showing off their creativity with face painting, all while enjoying free food and a live DJ. There were also backpack and school supply giveaways to get students ready for the year.

The back to school season is a vital time for young learners who are eager to learn new experiences and begin exploring new subject matter in the coming weeks. National Back to School Month, celebrated every year since the 1960s, gears up parents, teachers, schools, and students for a new season of education.
