Black History Programs

All grade levels participate in age-appropriate activities to celebrate the art, poetry, music, inventions, intellectual contributions, political accomplishments of African Americans.

Book Fair

Kids love shopping for new books in this school-wide celebration of reading. A wide range of titles are available for every level and interest, including our favorite series and authors!

Chess Club

Chess is a great way to increase kids’ focus, critical thinking skills as well as problem solving. Players demonstrate sportsmanship and use logic and planning in this friendly, competitive club.

Step

In this fun and engaging program, kids practice the art form of stepping which emphasizes creativity and collaboration. This includes learning and creating step routines by practicing basic elements of step, listening skills, and improvisation.

Safety Patrol

Scholars in this program practice good leadership and safety measures by assisting with arrival, dismissal, and special school events.
