Learning is a lifelong process that extends beyond the walls of the classroom. At River City Scholars, students can explore their interests, learn new skills and make new friends through a variety of extracurricular activities. More details about the programs and activities we offer are below.

Talent Show

A night of fun and festivities for all! Participants compete and celebrate each other's creative talents.

Multicultural Fair

Students and families are invited to join us and celebrate diversity. Our cultures are shared with music, food, history and fun!

Chess Club

Chess can increase focus, critical thinking, and problem solving skills. Players practice good sportsmanship and use logic in this friendly, competitive club.

Black History Programs

Every February, we celebrate African-American history and culture during school events. Our scholars also celebrate through reading, writing, and art.

3rd - 5th Grade

Girls on the Run

We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum. The program runs for 10 weeks in the spring.

National Junior Honor Society

This program was created for outstanding middle schoolers. These students are often recognized for efforts in academics, character, and service.
