Dress Code

A flexible and cost effective dress code has been established at our school to encourage academic success while reducing distractions and competition. Implementing a simple, flexible, cost effective dress code promotes student learning and increased academic instruction time.

Grades K-5

  • K–5 students must wear light blue or hunter green colored shirts with collars and sleeves (includes mock turtlenecks, long- or short-sleeved, cotton or knit). Shirts must be tucked in at all times.
  • K-5 girls must wear navy or khaki pants, skirts, skorts, or jumpers.  All bottoms must be either longer than the fingers when student’s arms hang at her sides or no more than three inches above the knees. Students may wear either khaki or navy blue bottoms with the exception of cargo style pants with pockets on the legs.  Boys must wear belts with pants that have belt loops.
  • Shoes: Students may wear shoes of their choice. Shoes must be closed-toed. Shoes are not to be higher than the ankle. Croc style, sandals, flip-flops, and wheelies are NOT permitted. Winter boots are not permitted to be worn during the school day. Snow boots are permitted outside and must be removed when entering the classroom. Shoes with wheels are not permitted; students must remove wheels before wearing such shoes to school.
  • Cold weather attire may include solid-colored sweaters or vests that are navy, white, burgundy, or dark green.
  • Hats of any kind are not permitted.
  • White, navy,  and black socks (or tights for girls) must be worn. Leggings in black, white, navy, and brown are permitted.
  • Extreme hairstyles are not permitted. Hair color must be of natural tones and may not be professionally colored, dyed, or streaked. Hair should be conservative with nothing etched or cut into the hair.
  • Wearing, carrying, and displaying gang paraphernalia, names, signs, or symbols of gang membership is prohibited.
  • A reasonable number of earrings are permitted.  Only ears may be pierced.
  • Makeup is not permitted including, but not limited to, lip gloss. Chapstick is permitted.

Middle School

  • Boys must wear navy or khaki pants or shorts. Belts must be worn with pants or shorts that have belt loops.
  • Cold weather attire may include solid-colored sweaters or sweater vests without hoods
  • Blazers may be worn that are black or navy blue in color.
  • Extreme hairstyles are not permitted.  Hair color must be of natural tones and may not be professionally colored, dyed, or streaked.  Hair should be conservative with nothing etched or cut into the hair.  Hairstyles that have etchings, carvings or shaving designs are not permitted.
  • Shoes: Students may wear shoes of their choice.  Shoes must be closed-toed.  Shoes are not to be higher than the ankle.  Croc style, sandals, flip-flops, and wheelies are NOT permitted.  Winter boots are not permitted to be worn during the school day.

  • Head scarf and bandanas are not permitted.
  • Purses are not permitted to be worn during the school day.  They must remain in lockers
