Playground and Popsicles Event Creates Opportunity for New Students and Staff to Meet

School buildings can be busy places in the summer, with plenty of cleaning and reorganizing for the coming year, but there are also opportunities for new students to see the school before everyone is back in the building. Incoming Mountain View Academy kindergarten scholars attended a Playground and Popsicles event recently where they were able to meet new Principal Dr. Natalia Brunton and other staff members who help the school outperform the local districts. Dr. Brunton wrote about the experience below:

As Colorado temperatures are rising, many families were happy to bring their children to Mountain View Academy playground for a cooling popsicle, some fun, and a school tour.

Several new families brought their eager kindergarteners to the event to see the new school, check out the classrooms, and meet their administrators and teachers. A few returning students already miss their daily trips to school and stopped by to say hello.

Many MVA teachers supported the event in the middle of their summer vacation and spent an hour answering questions for the new families, greeting students, and catching up with each other. Special thanks go to admissions interns Allie Lawson and Eli Horyza for organizing several well attended events this summer. Thank you to our staff for welcoming our families.

Yet, our warmest gratitude is saved for incoming Fourth Grade Teacher Zoe Jindra, our newest staff member. Zoe had not received her employee badge yet and did not realize that stopping by a school event would throw her right into action. With a smile and a kind word, she greeted visitors and made everyone welcome.

Awesome job welcoming new faces to school, Mountain View!
