Johnston Charter Academy was ranked ninth on the Best Charter Middle Schools in North Carolina list, according to U.S. News & World Report in its 2025 school rankings, which was a 17-spot improvement from last year.
The school, which has outperformed the local district since it opened in 2018, was praised for its middle school math and reading performances, which were rated well above expectations.
This marks the fourth year of the U.S. News & World Report ranking elementary and middle schools. The organization has provided go-to resources for parents and students at the high school and college levels for years.
Rankings were determined by analyzing math and reading proficiency, state assessments and how schools performed compared to expectations. Read more about the ranking’s methodology on the U.S. News website.About Johnston Charter Academy
