Johnston Charter Academy is a tuition-free public charter school in Clayton serving students in grades K-8. We shape instruction to build on the strengths and abilities of each student and integrate Moral Focus™ lessons into every school day. As a result, our students are well-prepared from kindergarten through eighth grade. A Stanford University study found National Heritage Academies partner-school students gained the equivalent of 3.5 months of additional learning each year compared to peers.

The lottery for the next school year (2026-27) was held via livestream on Tuesday, March 3 at 6:00 p.m. To view the livestream, please click on the livestream link below.
Lottery results will be communicated directly to families via email, text, and mail. Student enrollment is updated daily and your child's status reflected in the livestream may no longer be accurate. Waiting list updates with your child's status will be sent out from the school on a monthly basis.
