Learning is a lifelong process that extends beyond the walls of the classroom. At Great Oaks Academy, children can explore their interests, learn new skills and make new friends through a variety of extracurricular activities. More details about the programs and activities we offer are below.

Kindergarten - 2nd Grade
Activities and Clubs

S.T.E.M.

S.T.E.M. includes: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. We use this model to guide our scholars in authentic learning activities.

Community Service

Moral focus virtues are practiced beyond the classroom! Scholars who participate in service projects get the chance to model compassion and courage by working to meet local needs.

Multicultural Fair

Students and families are invited to join us and celebrate diversity. Our cultures are shared with music, food, history and fun!

Field Trips

Each year we take learning outside the classroom and invite parent volunteers. A variety of age-appropriate outings are planned for our scholars.

Coding

Coding isn't just for college students anymore. With the importance of STEM careers on the rise, we are making sure our students are prepared and ready to code.

Engineering Club

This club introduces our scholars to concepts of engineering. Students get hands-on experience with projects and demonstrations.

Black History Programs

Every February, we celebrate African-American history and culture during school events. Our scholars also celebrate through reading, writing, and art.

3rd - 5th Grade

Members of this club get an intro to theater arts and learn about acting, play production and stage work.

At Great Oaks, we embrace technology in classrooms and our computer lab. Students may also use tablets during workshops to practice skills they are learning.
