Gate City Charter Academy is a tuition-free public charter school in Greensboro serving students in grades K-8. We shape instruction to build on the strengths and abilities of each student and integrate Moral Focus™ lessons into every school day. As a result, our students are well-prepared from kindergarten through eighth grade. A Stanford University study found National Heritage Academies partner-school students gained the equivalent of 3.5 months of additional learning each year compared to peers.

The first day of school is almost here, and the best way to start the year off successfully is to come to our Meet the Teacher & Open House! This is a great opportunity for families to get informed, meet our staff, and help scholars feel confident before the first day of school. During the event, families will receive important back-to-school information and driveline cards. Scholars will have the chance to meet their teacher, visit their classroom, and become familiar with where they'll be on the first day of school. Taking a few minutes to explore the campus ahead of time can make the first day much smoother and less stressful for everyone. To accommodate family schedules, we are offering two identical sessions: 1:00–3:00 PM and 5:00–7:00 PM. You only need to attend one session, and you do not need to stay for the full two hours. When you arrive, please park in the back and head to the gym, where you'll receive your information and visit informational stations. We're also excited to have Kona Ice on campus with snow cones available for purchase during both sessions! We look forward to welcoming our new and returning families and can't wait to kick off another amazing school year together!

Join us for a morning campus tour at Gate City Charter Academy! Enjoy coffee and donuts while getting a firsthand look at our classrooms, learning spaces, and school community. Families will have the opportunity to walk through campus, see our scholars and staff in action, and learn more about what makes Gate City a great place to learn. Please arrive by 9:50 AM for check-in. Tours will begin promptly at 10:00 AM. All visitors must bring a valid photo ID (driver’s license or state-issued ID) to enter the building. Please RSVP!
