Canton Charter Academy Recognized as a 2018 National Blue Ribbon School

Cantion Charter Academy was one of 13 schools in Michigan recognized as a 2018 National Blue Ribbon School on Oct. 1, 2018 through a live video-announcement made by U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy Devos.
“I'm pleased to celebrate with you as your school is named a National Blue Ribbon School,” said U.S. Secretary of Education DeVos in a video message to the honorees. “We recognize and honor your important work in preparing students for successful careers and meaningful lives. Congratulations on your students' accomplishments and for your extraordinary commitment to meeting their unique needs.”
Of the 349 recipients in 47 states this year, only 13 were in Michigan. Two National Heritage Academies Schools were honored - Canton Charter and Achieve Charter Academy.
“I am so proud to be working alongside such amazing deans and teachers,” said Kelie Fuller, principal of Canton Charter Academy. “We work so hard each day and it is humbling that we’re being recognized.
The schools are honored in one of two performance categories: Exemplary High Performing Schools or Exemplary Achievement Gap Closing Schools. Both were honored for being Exemplary High Performing Schools based on their student scores, subgroup student scores and graduation rates.
Principal Fuller will attend an awards ceremony Nov. 7-8 in Washington D.C. where she will celebrate with the Secretary and the Department of Education.
Congratulations, Canton Charter Academy!
