The experiences at Arbor Preparatory High School were vast for 2025 grad Andrew Moore. With many interest areas and plenty of opportunities, Andrew was able to make the most of his time as a Gator, participating over the years in National Honor Society, basketball, cross country, and music lab.
Andrew plans on attending Kettering University in Flint, Michigan, and will major in mechanical engineering while participating in the co-op program. That program will offer him the opportunity to blend time in the classroom and labs, with immersion in a paid job program.
Part of the experience of attending high school is growing into the adult you will become, and Andrew noted two teachers who helped him focus on the goals he wanted to achieve.
“There were multiple teachers that helped me throughout high school,” he said. “Ms. (Elaine) McIntyre and Mrs. (Mary) Busse, helped me become more serious and studious in my AP classes.”
Music has also played a large role in Andrew’s time at Arbor Prep.
“One of the things I’m going to miss about attending Arbor Prep is concert band. Mr. (Patrick) Echlin was my teacher. I played percussion before concert band, but Mr. Echlin challenged me to go beyond the standard skills that I had. I also began playing other instruments.”
Andrew said he also enjoys spending time with his family on weekends and going to church.
Congratulations, Andrew, and good luck on the next step of your educational journey!
