Wellspring Prep Hosts Family Resource Night

Wellspring Preparatory High School families came together and connected with community partners to learn more about buying their first home at Family Resource Night.

The evening of financial literacy showed families what it takes to buy their first home and shared best practices to prepare for one of life’s biggest purchases. Lake Michigan Credit Union representatives led the presentation, but several other financial community partners were in attendance to offer their resources to families.

Admissions Liaison Anna LaVigne said the school’s relationships with community partners is crucial in providing students and families a high-quality experience.

“Knowing that we have strong communication and partnerships with them is always a good thing for our school,” LaVigne said. “It’s always nice they can share their experiences with us with their clients and members. It’s nice to know they can recommend us to anyone moving forward.”

While the group of parents wasn’t the biggest LMCU has presented to, their representatives shared Wellspring parents were one of the most engaged groups they’ve spoken with and admired the questions families asked. Pairing the inquisitive examples they see at home with the intentional instruction Wellspring Prep offers, it’s no wonder students are well on their way to success.

Afterwards, families participated in a raffle to take home prizes. The night served as not only a great way for families to learn more about buying a home, but it also gave families a connection point with Wellspring Prep.

“We serve a lot of families who might be looking to buy a home for many reasons,” LaVigne said. “We held it at Wellspring because it was a good opportunity to have people in our building. I think sometimes people might not know where our school is, so we wanted to give people exposure to our building.”

With engaging parent events like this, Wellspring Prep has shown it is helping educate both students and parents so both can achieve their goals.

“It’s great having these events and opportunities for parents to come in and see the school and our facilities,” LaVigne said. “We’re trying to invest back into our families so they can better themselves. It’s a great partnership.”
