Warrendale Charter Academy is a tuition-free public charter school in Detroit serving students in grades K-8. We shape instruction to build on the strengths and abilities of each student and integrate Moral Focus™ lessons into every school day. As a result, our students are well-prepared from kindergarten through eighth grade. A Stanford University study found National Heritage Academies partner-school students gained the equivalent of 3.5 months of additional learning each year compared to peers.

Our students have been working hard to prepare a meaningful showcase that will include presentations, performances, and project displays highlighting influential figures, historical milestones, and cultural contributions. This event is a wonderful opportunity to honor Black history while celebrating our students’ creativity, learning, and voices. Fathers in Fiction – March 2–6 All week long, fathers and father figures are invited to join our Fathers in Fiction celebration! This special, interactive event gives participants the opportunity to visit their students’ classrooms and read aloud, inspiring a love of reading. By sharing stories, fathers help promote literacy, strengthen family connections, and demonstrate the joy and importance of storytelling through positive role modeling. We can’t wait to see our students and their fathers come together for this meaningful experience!
