Talent Show

Kids, teachers, and parents all come together to enjoy this showcase of talents - a night of fun festivities where participants compete, cheer one another on, and celebrate each other's unique and creative gifts!

Community Service

Moral focus virtues are practiced beyond the classroom! Children participating in service projects model compassion and courage by working to meet local needs.

3rd - 5th Grade

Girls on the Run

We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. The program runs for 10 weeks in the spring.

Student Council

Open to multiple grade levels, the student council helps to organize community service projects, arrange school-wide activities, and seeks to build school pride through representing the voice of our students.

This rich program gives students the opportunity to express themselves through music and teamwork. Students in band experience a variety of lessons in wind, brass and percussion instruments.

At Timberland, we embrace the use of technology within the classroom as well as in the computer lab. Students also use tablets to practice a variety of skills during workshops.

Spotlight: Taste of Soul

An annual tradition at Timberland Charter Academy added a global service project this year – Little Dresses for Africa. During the Taste of Soul event Feb. 16, students and the community had an opportunity to make a dress out of a simple pillow case and send it to Africa.

Building Healthy Communities

Timberland has been selected for 2017-18 to partner with the Building Healthy Communities elementary school program award, helping to establish the knowledge and behaviors needed for a healthy lifestyle.

The Building Healthy Communities Program is administered by the Center for School Health at Wayne State University in partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, the United Dairy Industry of Michigan and the Michigan Fitness Foundation.
