Learning is a lifelong process that extends beyond the walls of the classroom. At Timberland Charter Academy, students can explore their interests, learn new skills and make new friends through a variety of extracurricular activities. More details about the programs and activities we offer are below.

Building Healthy Communities


 
Timberland Charter Academy participates in the Building Healthy Communities elementary school program, which helps our students establish the knowledge and behaviors needed for a healthy lifestyle.

The Building Healthy Communities Program is administered by the Center for School Health at Wayne State University in partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, the United Dairy Industry of Michigan and the Michigan Fitness Foundation.

NHA Shines: Stanford Study Shows Our Students Surpass Their Peers by 3.5 Months Each Year

A recent Stanford study shows NHA partner-school students continue to outperform their traditional public school peers. They do so by gaining nearly three-and-a-half months of additional learning. NHA also earned the new “gap busters” designation for outstanding progress in eliminating learning disparities for minority and poverty students.
