Dress Code

A flexible and cost effective dress code has been established at our school to encourage academic success while reducing distractions and competition. If you require assistance in paying for uniforms, please call the school at (231) 767-9700.



Short or long sleeved bright green (preferred), white, or navy blue polo

May also wear a long or short sleeved white dress shirt with a navy blue tie

Shirts must be tucked into pants.
Undershirts and any shirts worn underneath the uniform shirt must be white, navy or lime green.
Chest/Cleavage is not to be exposed.

Hair & Hygiene


Hair must be conservative and of natural tones


Hair must be neat, clean and appropriate for college bound scholars.

The personal grooming of students should be in accord with the standards set by the uniform dress code. Students should be clean and neat when at school.

Not Allowed

Extreme hairstyles and colored faux hair are not permitted. (i.e., cut designs, mohawks, or brightly colored hair)


All Grades

Navy, khaki, or black slacks or dress pants (boys)
Navy, khaki, or black pants, skirts, skorts, or jumpers (girls)
  • On dress down days, jeans may be worn with either a Be Nice T-shirt or official Timberland shirts
    • Jeans worn on designated days must be blue or black, may not be ripped, torn nor have the appearance of being ripped or torn


Pants are not permitted to sag.
No jeans are permitted except on designated dress down days.
All skirts must be knee length.

  • Sweaters and/or sweatshirts must be solid uniform color (navy or white) are allowed to be worn over collared shirts
  • No hooded garments are permitted in the classrooms
  • All clothing must be non-provocative and the appropriate size for the student

Not Allowed

Wearing, carrying, and displaying gang paraphernalia, names, signs, or symbols of gang membership are prohibited.

Hats, Shoes & Accessories

  • Head gear of any kind is not permitted (e.g., hats, doo-rags, or scarves)
  • Loafer type or casual dress or athletic shoes may be worn
    • No light-ups or open-toed shoes are permitted
  • If socks are shown (i.e. with shorts, skirts, etc.) they must be uniform color
  • Boots worn with uniform cannot be taller than ankle height, otherwise the pant leg must cover the boot
  • Body piercing ornaments are not permitted
  • A reasonable number of small earrings, less than one inch, are permitted for girls only - Only ears may be pierced
  • No neck, finger or wrist jewelry (except for watches and official "be nice" wristbands) permitted
