Educational Theater Performance Inspires Peak Charter Academy Students

NHA Communications Team

Students at Peak Charter Academy were recently treated to an educational performance by The National Theatre for Children. Third graders learned about the importance of energy conservation, natural gas, and how the electricity and heat in their homes is produced.

The theater troupe, made up of two professional actor-educators, used humor, action, and audience participation to guide students on an adventure. The story, called “Once Upon a Flame,” followed a hero who is faced with the challenge of broken natural gas appliances and learns the value of using energy wisely while trying to stop a villain from wasting the precious resource.

Admissions Representative and Parent Ambassador Jessica Ibrahim, who helped coordinate the performance, said the program balanced educational content with humor, which made the learning feel natural and fun, rather than forced.

“Students were highly engaged and excited throughout the performance,” she said. “Many were laughing, participating, and talking afterward about what they learned, which showed the message truly resonated with them.”
