Paragon Charter Academy Celebrates 20 Years

Paragon Charter Academy’s principal, Ben Kriesh, and fourth- through eighth-grade dean, Sue Delie, recently appeared on “The Bart Hawley Show” on Jackson TV (JTV) to celebrate the school’s 20th anniversary.

The interview discussed a variety of events taking place at the school, including the recent Moral Focus Assembly, which honors the moral focus virtue of the month. This month’s focus virtue is respect, so the assembly comprised how this virtue comes to life for the scholars.

During the assembly, the second-graders presented a poem that explained what respect means to them and how they can apply it to their day. Additionally, the advanced band performed.

The interview also covered information about Paragon’s robotics programs and how they help prepare kids for their future and joining the workforce.

“We know that there are a lot of jobs that haven’t even been created yet that our children will be going into,” Kriesh said. “To help prepare for this, we partnered with FIRST, an organization that hosts after school educational programs.”

These programs include interactive activities such as LEGO League, which focuses on teaching coding practices, and First Tech Challenge, which offers exciting lessons such as how to survive a lunar landing.

“It’s fun learning with the kids. Many times, we want to bring our expertise to the table, but this has been a collaborative effort between all of us,” he added. “It’s been a lot of fun.”

Congrats on 20 years, Paragon!
