Keystone Academy Ranks in Top 10 of Best Charter Middle Schools in Michigan

Keystone Academy has been recognized for its strong academic results and the supportive learning environment it provides students. In the 2026 U.S. News & World Report rankings, Keystone ranked seventh on the Best Charter Middle Schools in Michigan list.

For families, this recognition reflects more than test scores. It points to a school culture built on academic excellence, clear expectations, and strong partnerships with parents. For 16 years, Keystone Academy has outperformed the local district by maintaining high standards and supporting students as they take responsibility for their learning.

U.S. News & World Report highlighted Keystone Academy’s middle school math and reading performance, rating both well above expectations. These results reflect focused instruction, a structured learning environment, and teachers who support students as they build strong academic foundations.

Character development is a central part of the Keystone experience. Through NHA’s Moral Focus™ program, students learn monthly virtues and practice making positive choices in and out of the classroom. In fact, 91% of parents at Keystone say the Moral Focus program has had a positive impact on their child, reinforcing the school’s commitment to developing both strong students and strong character.

In addition to academics, Keystone offers a well-rounded education that helps students grow as leaders and teammates. Students have opportunities to participate in leadership activities, sports, clubs, electives, school events, and field trips, supporting engagement, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
