Learning is a lifelong process that extends beyond the walls of the classroom. At Johnston Charter Academy, children can explore their interests, learn new skills and make new friends through a variety of extracurricular activities. More details about the programs and activities we offer are below.

Kindergarten - 2nd Grade
Activities and Clubs

S.T.E.M.

S.T.E.M. includes: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. We use this model to guide our scholars in authentic learning activities.

Art Club

Young artists come together to practice technique and work on art projects.

Book Club

Readers gather to share thoughts and explore ideas through "book talk." The perfect club for scholars who enjoy a shared love for reading.

Robotics

Problem-solving minds come together in this league. Our student engineers are challenged to build robots to complete tasks.

Coding

Coding isn't just for college students anymore. With the importance of STEM careers on the rise, we are making sure our students are prepared and ready to code.

Yoga

Yoga can be a great way for students to increase health and concentration. This class includes stretching, posing, and breathing exercises.

Dance

We encourage our dancers to express themselves through movement. Group or solo performances may also be taught as a part of this program.

Summer is a great time for your child to develop new skills that go beyond the classroom – no matter their age. Serving as a volunteer or beginning a part-time job are excellent ways to develop these skills.
