On Sept. 22, the Andrew J. Brown (AJB) bear family participated in the 35th annual Circle City Classic parade with students, staff, and parents showing AJB pride, cheers and music.
The annual parade is a celebration of black history, as well as a fundraiser to support education and nonviolence in the city of Indianapolis. The event, sponsored by the Indiana Black Expo drew a crowd of 100,000 people this year.
AJB's band marched, performed cheers, and staff and students helped spread the word about the school.
"AJB represented National Heritage Academies proudly at this event," said James Hill, principal of AJB. "Under the leadership of Mr. Alex Lewis, Ms. Johani Johnson, Ms. Victoria Sheppard, and Ms. Vionta Jones the event was a huge success! We continue to be a part of the community because the community is part of us!"
