I would like to put this out as a friendly reminder based on seeing the same thing every day since school started now. It is nerve-wracking enough as a driver to be on alert for kiddos/parents in the parking lot, people that "cut through" the lot as opposed to using the "serpentine line" make it even worse. Even if you are parking, PLEASE use the "serpentine" line to find your space. I know everyone is in a hurry in the morning but please remember to respect everyone's time. Per Mr. Carlton's email explaining the "serpentine" when dropping off and picking up: Dropping off/Picking up by car and using the Serpentine There are several options for arriving at the school for drop off and pick up times. If you plan on arriving at the school by car and staying in your car, you can use the serpentine. Here’s a diagram of how to navigate the parking lot serpentine: When dropping off and picking up students in the serpentine, only do so once your car has passed the main doors and come to a complete stop. For safety students should only exit/enter their cars on the passenger side. The serpentine will be slower than normal the first couple of days of school. After that time, it will go much faster. Please be patient with one another as we all learn/remember the process. You are always welcome to park and walk your student into the building if that is easier for you. Thank you for your help!
Hey Landmark parents..... Channels 7's chief meteorologist Mike Nelson will be be speaking to our elementary kiddos on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 @ 10am. They will be delighted with all things weather and perhaps he will be video taping the kids to put on the newscast that afternoon on Channel 7 (5pm newscast), as well as on the Facebook website: Facebook/247weathercenter Mike is asking each School that he will be visiting, to collect coats in anticipation of his visit and upon his arrival he will film the mountain of coats!! So lets get that mountain going! We hope you will want to be apart of this important program...these coats are free to anyone in need! Starting tomorrow their will be a box in the hallway where you can drop off any new or gently used coat. So open on those closets and see what you have laying around or when you are out getting your kiddos new winter coats, please consider picking up another one for someone in need! If you have any questions at all please feel free to message Jennifer Benker Fisser I look forward to have Mike entertain our kids and helping our community!!
