Walker Charter Academy is a tuition-free public charter school in Michigan serving students in grades Y5-8. We shape instruction to build on the strengths and abilities of each student and integrate Moral Focus™ lessons into every school day. As a result, our students are well-prepared from young 5s through eighth grade. A Stanford University study found National Heritage Academies partner-school students gained the equivalent of 3.5 months of additional learning each year compared to peers.

Join us on Wednesday, August 19, for our Young 5's & Kindergarten Orientation! This welcoming event is a wonderful opportunity for families to meet teachers, connect with other Walker Charter Academy families, and learn about the exciting school year ahead. While parents attend a brief informational meeting, children will enjoy supervised playground time and get to know their classmates. Complimentary Kona Ice will be provided, and families will also have the opportunity to pick up a FREE Proud Parent yard sign while supplies last. We look forward to welcoming you and your family for a great start to the school year!

Join us on August 20 as we celebrate the start of a new school year at our 1–8 Grade Open House. This is a great opportunity for students and families to meet their teacher, visit their classroom, complete any remaining paperwork, and connect with other members of the school community. We also extend a special welcome to our new students and families joining the Walker Charter Academy community. We are excited to have you become part of our Wildcat community. To help ease parking lot congestion, we recommend the following arrival times based on last name: A–M: 4:30–5:30 PM, N–Z: 5:30–6:30 PM. We look forward to seeing you and kicking off a wonderful school year together.
Arrival can be such a busy and emotional time on the first day of school! On Monday, August 24, Young 5 and Kindergarten families will meet on the playground at arrival. Teachers will come outside to greet the students, line them up, and walk them into the building. After the Young 5’s and Kindergarteners head inside, we invite you to join us for coffee and doughnuts. It’s a great opportunity to meet and connect with other Young 5 and Kindergarten parents as we kick off the school year together. We look forward to seeing you there!
