Fortis Academy is a tuition-free public charter school in Ypsilanti serving students in grades K-8. We shape instruction to build on the strengths and abilities of each student and integrate Moral Focus™ lessons into every school day. As a result, our students are well-prepared from kindergarten through eighth grade. A Stanford University study found National Heritage Academies partner-school students gained the equivalent of 3.5 months of additional learning each year compared to peers.

Kindergarten Camp Adventure at Fortis Academy Calling all incoming kindergarten students! We are excited to welcome our newest learners to Kindergarten Camp at Fortis Academy—a fun-filled experience designed to help children become comfortable, confident, and ready for their first day of school. Why Attend? Kindergarten Camp is an important part of preparing for a successful school year. During camp, students will meet new friends and teachers, explore classrooms and the school building, practice kindergarten routines, participate in hands-on learning activities and games, and build confidence before the first day of school. Attendance is Expected Kindergarten Camp is an important part of our transition-to-school program, and we encourage all incoming kindergarten students to attend. Participation helps ensure students begin the school year feeling comfortable, prepared, and excited to learn. Bonus Opportunity As a special thank-you for participating, every student who attends Kindergarten Camp will be entered into a raffle drawing for a chance to win a children's bicycle. The winner will be announced and the bike awarded during the first week of school, provided the student is in attendance. We look forward to welcoming our newest students and helping them begin their educational journey at Fortis Academy.
