To enable students to reach high academic standards, the school has put in place a dress code designed to reduce distractions and competitions. Implementing a simple, flexible, cost effective
dress code promotes student learning and increased academic instruction time. Interpretation of the Dress Code is at the principal and staff’s discretion and their decision is final.
The personal grooming of students should be in accord with the standards set by the uniform dress code. Students should be clean and neat when at school.
- Students must wear solid white, navy, light blue or hunter green polo shirts or turtlenecks with no logos. Paragon logos, however, are permitted.
- 5th-8th grade students are permitted to wear burgundy polo shirts with no logos. Shirts must be tucked into pants.
- Cold weather attire may include solid colored white, navy, light blue, hunter green or black sweaters, vests, or fleece. No hoods or sweatshirt material is permitted. Logos are not permitted. Dress code shirts must be worn under winter attire.
- Long sleeve undergarments must be white or navy.
- Students must wear solid navy, khaki, or black dress pants. Hip hugger, carpenter, cargo, stretch, or jean pants, shorts, or skirts are not permitted.
- Capri pants or leggings are not permitted. Tight pants or denim material are not permitted. White or navy tights are permitted with skirts, skorts, or jumpers.
- Students must wear solid color shoes and can be athletic shoes or dress shoes. No bright colors or patterned shoes or laces are permitted. No sandals or open back shoes are permitted. Athletic shoes with other colors, lights, wheels, etc. are not permitted. Heels must not be higher than one inch.
- Solid white, navy or black socks must be worn.
- Students must wear solid black, dark brown, or navy belts if their pants, skirts, or shorts have belt loops.
- Shorts and skorts must reach at least two inches above the kneecaps, must be no more than one inch below the kneecaps, or be ankle length.
- Hats of any kind are not permitted inside the building.
- Hairstyles must be conservative. Extreme hairstyles are not permitted. (e.g. designs shaved in the hair, shaved heads, Mohawks, mullets, Princetons, etc.) Hair color must be of natural tones and may not be professionally colored, dyed, or streaked. Boy’s hair must be above the collar, ears, and eyebrows.
- Full grown facial hair is not permitted.
- Head bands must be solid white, navy, hunter green, or black.
- Make up, lip gloss, nail polish, and fake nails are not permitted.
- Purses and backpacks may not be carried from class to class. Instead, they must be stored in lockers or cubbies during the day.
- Wearing, carrying or displaying gang paraphernalia, names, signs, or symbols of gang membership are prohibited. Tattoos are not permitted, real or fake.
- Girls may wear one set of earrings or bracelets only. Earrings must be studs. Boys may not wear earrings on school campus or when engaged in off-campus, school-sponsored events. Other body piercings or ornaments are not permitted.
Jeans Day Dress Code
Jeans must be solid blue or black denim. Ripped, saggy, or excessively worn jeans are not permitted. Pockets, carpenter loops, slits, studs, sequins, and embroidery are not allowed on jeans. Shirts must be regular school uniform shirts or academic college shirts (t-shirts or sweat shirts) that relate to our college theme. Students are permitted to wear “Right-On” shirts that are earned through the school’s Positive Behavior Support System. College sports themed shirts or jerseys are inappropriate.
School Picture Day Dress Code
Fall school pictures: Student must be in school uniform for fall pictures and any re-takes. Students not in school uniform will not be allowed to have their pictures taken.
Spring school pictures: Students may wear nice clothing or their school uniform. Students may not wear jeans or t-shirts with characters or large logos. Girls may not wear spaghetti or thin strapped tops/dresses.
